Gary King has been the First Officer to Captain Glenn Shephard on Parsifal III on Below Deck Sailing Yacht since season 2, and he seems to be getting away with a lot of misbehavior. Over the years, he has become known for his playboy antics and questionable leadership, often stirring the pot among the rest of the crew. As if those traits weren't bad enough, Gary was also accused of sexual misconduct.

Makeup artist Samantha Suarez spoke about the alleged incident, which happened in 2022. Being tasked with helping cast members during production breaks, Samantha alleged that she had to take a drunken Gary back to his hotel room following a confessional interview. Gary was in isolation after testing positive for COVID-19, which kept him from joining the rest of the crew. According to Rolling Stone, Samantha said that Gary "was behaving erratically" and even grabbed her from behind, preventing her from leaving until she managed to break free. Gary's over-consumption of alcohol was allegedly not addressed by producers.

Gary has portrayed himself as a more positive figure in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5. See him looking cheery in Gary's Instagram post, as seen above. This was a notable change from his behavior in past seasons. Rather than pushing for Emma Crouch to be fired for her lack of competence, he's attempting to mentor her and help improve her work ethic and skills.
While Gary’s romantic pursuits have taken a backseat this season, there are still signs that he could find himself in trouble. Danni, who has spent most of the season flirting with Deckhand Keith Allen, shifted her attention to Gary after he failed to reciprocate her interest. The two shared a drunken kiss in the ocean following a crew night out, though Gary quickly regretted the incident.
