Some great lessons for founders to take on boardIgnore some of the cheesy intro, but this interview with Trinny Woodall highlights:1. The body language you will face in a pitch, the bro-style arms behind the head. A clear sign they will never invest. 2. Having to do over 40 pitches for investment, it is a long journey. 3 The ageism out there and the ignoring that women over 35 are a huge market that should not be ignored!:) Investors stop ignoring this market:)4. Finding that one woman who invested £5k that kept the business going, it can be that small investor who spurs you on. Why Angel investment is vital. 5. That you learn the most when at your lowest. Trinny London is worth over $250 million. Entrepreneur and investor Paul Graham on the common mistake made by entrepreneurs (and anyone hoping to make something new):"What you will get wrong is that you will not pay enough attention to your users.You will make up some idea in your own head that you will call your "vision", and you will spend a lot of time thinking about your vision. In a cafe. By yourself. And build some elaborate thing without going and talking to users, because that's doing sales, which is a pain in the ass, and they might say no.You will not ship fast enough because you're embarrassed to ship something unfinished, and you don't want to face the likely feedback that you will get from shipping. What’s your vision that you cannot let go of? 🔭 Like imaginal cells in a caterpillar, entrepreneurial minds make up around 5% of the population. It's not surprising we often don't fit in. 👤 We are the ones that are willing to be wrong (at least put up with everyone telling us so).
