If you’re playing as a web-slinger, such as Venom or Spider-Man, then you have access to a setting called “Easy Swing” in Marvel Rivals.
This setting is extremely well-hidden in the menus of the game, so there’s a good chance you didn’t know it existed until you were told about it.

In any case, Easy Swing is a mechanic that can be beneficial or harmful to your gameplay, depending on your preferences. As such, disabling it to see how the other side lives is something you should do immediately to know what works for you.
Below, you can see exactly how to disable Easy Swing and what it does in Marvel Rivals.
What is Easy Swing in Marvel Rivals?
Easy Swing is a mechanic that’s only available for characters that can manually swing using one of their skills.

In Marvel Rivals, Spider-Man and Venom are the only characters with access to Easy Swing at the time of writing.
Even though a hero like Moon Knight has a grapple ability, Easy Swing is reserved for longer-range swinging skills. For example, Moon Knight’s grapple can only lift you in the air, while Spider-Man and Venom can attach a web to a surface from far away.
If you’re using Spider-Man or Venom, you’ll have Easy Swing on by default in Marvel Rivals. This mechanic simply makes it so you don’t have to manually choose where your web is attached when you activate the swing skill.
Instead, the game chooses the best point to swing from and attaches the web there. So, all you have to do is select the skill and aim in the general direction you want to go. From there, Easy Swing picks a spot, and you can start swinging immediately.
Without Easy Swing, there’s a chance that your web won’t attach to anything if you try to pick a spot that’s too far. This could be the difference between life and death, as there’s a brief moment where your character is vulnerable, trying to swing away.

Of course, Easy Swing also gives you less control over where you’re swinging. Just because it picks the best overall spot in the moment doesn’t mean that’s necessarily where you want to go when selecting the swing skill. Easy Swing could pick a spot that leads you into danger when trying to escape a sticky situation.
Overall, you’ll certainly have a preference when it comes to using Easy Swing or not in Marvel Rivals. To know for sure which way you lean, though, you need to understand how to enable and disable the setting.

How to Enable and Disable Easy Swing in Marvel Rivals
The process of enabling and disabling Easy Swing is quite simple. You can follow the steps below to see exactly how to do it:

✕ Remove Ads
- Go to the main menu of Marvel Rivals
- Select the cog icon in the top-right corner of the screen
- Click “Settings”
- Navigate to the “Keyboard” or “Controller” depending on your input device
- Scroll over to the “Combat” section in either tab
- Find the “All Heroes” box and click it
- Select either Spider-Man or Venom
- Scroll down to the “Hero” section and find the “Automatic Swing” option
- Press the checkmark to disable the setting and the X to enable it
Make sure you change the settings for Spider-Man and Venom individually. If you only change it for one of the heroes, the other will still have Easy Swing on by default.
You’ll also have to continually reselect the hero you want to change settings for every time you play a match in Marvel Rivals.
After a match has concluded, going back into the settings will require you to reselect Spider-Man or Venom if you want to enable or disable Easy Swing.

When it comes to whether or not you should have Easy Swing enabled, it’s truly a personal preference choice.
Our best advice is to keep Easy Swing enabled as you’re first learning a web-slinging character. This allows you to focus on the overall gameplay of the hero rather than trying to get your swings exactly right every time.
As you begin to master the hero, you can disable Easy Swing, as you’ll have a much better grasp of the character by that point.
Learning the right spots to attach your webs, what directions to swing, and how to use the swinging to your advantage are skills you’ll pick up as you use the hero more.
Of course, if you don’t like picking your swing spots or want full control over the skill, choose to enable or disable the mechanic as you see fit. There’s no wrong way to use this mechanic, so choose whatever feels best for your gameplay.
