The experience with this center has turned worse these days.
1. The group swim lessons for kids are over crowded, teenage instructors lacking all enthusiasm for teaching swim skills
2. Insufficient guards during long weekends confining usto small shallow areas for swimming, slide area always closed
3. Managerial escalation has noimpact asthey are all complicit
3Front desk harassing for physical identity when guests are already onboarded into the system, making rules onthe fly and ineffective enforcement
4. Nogroup fitness lessons before 8AMIt's safe toassume that YMCA has become too complacent without healthy competition. Iplan tocancel subscription.

Great place for the whole family! Staff isvery friendly and receptive tofeedback onclasses, times, and activities. They put onsome great children’s programs throughout the year. The Rex pool isa lot offun onrainy days and after school toburn some energy. Mykids love the kids zone and ask togo here often.

It's not right that Sammamish YMCA isnot offering community swim. Idid some research and when the Ywas first established inour community The City ofSammamish paid aboatload ofmoney toget the center started, but with the agreement that the Ywould allow community swim for residents (not that they make iteasy todoso, but that's another issue). Noother activity centers were considered for the space except for YMCA, not such acoincidence when Ifound out one ofthe Yboard members was also associated with the Sammamish City Council. This seems wrong and Iwish wecould reconsider our city's contract with the YMCA.… – show

I understand this isn't aprivate swim club, however, the pool isHEAVILY geared towards kids playing and swim lessons. Ifyou want toswim laps this isnot the place foryou. They constantly close multiple lanes only for afew children learning toswim and cram all the lap swimmers into 2—3lanes. Itseems like they don't know how toeffectively utilize space. Also, supply and demand. Many laps swimmers + very few swim lessons = give more lanes for lap swimmers. Again, this isgreat ifyou area parent dropping your kids off but for everyone else it's abig disappointment.… – show

This place has dirty bathrooms and showers and irefuse touse the toilets because it’s always ayellow orbrown tinge. the floors ofthe lap pool have mold and are really gross. Irecommend wearing slippers atall time. Sometimes iwill occasionally shower there but usually igo home it’s better safe than sorry. Ihave also had multiple issues with mymembership personally and ihave seen other people atthe front desk with the same issue. Ihave also noticed that the policy that only allows ages 14and older toenter alone which ibelieve isridiculous.… – show

YMCA opening after COVID.
1. They are still charging the full membership price, but provide 1/7(one seventh) services and less. They are only open 5days aweek with limited hours, but still charge the full price (like for 7days, regular hours)
Honest?No. Dowe deserve that? Nope.
2. Iwas only able toschedule togo swim once aweek or1time per 2week (instead 4—6times), but still pay the full membership price. How just/fair isthat? Isit normal toovercharge people for services thatYMCA can't provide?
3. People inthe reception are not honest about air quality and air filters that installed inYMCA. During bad air quality times inSeptember (PM2.5>200mg/m3) they informed methat they have great air filters and air isfine inside for exercising, soall clients can safely exercise. But when Imeasured the air quality inside ofthe building with myair quality device, itshows mePM193 mg/m3. Ifyou goexercise with such air quality, itcan cost you your life. Assimple asthat. Iwish that YMCA reception simply told usthe truth, instead ofsuch life endangerment. And how about people who don't have such air quality devices?…
4. You can bekicked out ofYMCA ifoutside will berainy weather with lightning. Not ajoke! YMCA staff asked usto leave the club asap, because they saw alightning during rain outside. They forbid usto use showers and toilets. Mydad isprofessor ofnuclear physics and helaughed atit for along time. But fact isa fact— you will get kicked out ifthere isa lightning outside. BTW— all other fitness centers are still open onthe same time.
5. Something isALWAYS broken/not working atYMCA. Nobody cares tofixit.
There isNO clod/warm water inthe showers— scalding hot water pours from thetap. Got burned, asked staff tofixit. Not got fixed in2+ month.
6. Handicap door openers are also constantly broken
7. Toilet flushers are broken and you always can “enjoy” the remains ofthe previous visitor.
8. Last swim ends ONLY 5min before YMCA iscloses. There isno way you can get out ofthe swimming pool, take ashower, dryout, get dressed, gather all the stuff and leave the club in5min.So, YMCA staff will yell atyou when you step over 5min. It's humiliating!… – show00
